The purpose of the organized wives and widows of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., is to promote the organization of the local Silhouette chapter, provide activities for visiting Silhouettes during Kappa Conclaves, Province, and other events, develop service projects of interest to the Silhouette chapter, review and update local uniform policies and procedures and most importantly to serve as the official auxiliary to Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity.
The National Silhouettes of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc became official in 1947. However, on September 11, 1987, Policy Statement No. 87-12 was entered into the records of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., recognizing the Silhouettes as an affiliate who purpose is to provide support and assistance for the activities of the Fraternity at the Grand Chapter, Province and Local levels.
The membership of this organization shall be the wives/widows of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. men. Chapter activation requires a minimum of five Silhouettes and payment of National and Province dues.
